a first
I ran my first marathon on Sunday! I ran in the Nike Women's Marathon here in San Francisco, 15,000 women running to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (According to them, there were about 150 or so men). It was definitely really cool to be running with just women. My first triathlon was a Danksin one which is women's only. It's definitely a really cool thing to be surrounded by women of all shapes and sizes running for your own health, a goal and a good cause. Normally at these events you get a regular old t-shirt. Here, and I think this had lots do do because the title sponsor was Nike, we got Nike dri-fit t-shirts.

But that wasn't all we got. After we crossed the finish line, there were firemen dressed in tuxes (but personally, I'd rather see them in their uniforms) handing out some pretty little blue boxes that were to go in some pretty little blue bags we received later.

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you, a Tiffany's necklace. There's a Nike Swoosh and "05" engraved on the center of the woman's chest, and a Tiff&Co engraved on the back. This has got to be THE BEST finisher's swag I've ever received. Usually you'll just get a cotton tee which in all practicality isn't very practical for working out. I never wear my race shirts unless it's to sleep in. But this, I'll wear. And that necklace, I'll definitely wear (when I remember - I'm not a big jewelry person). So will I do another marathon? To tell you the truth, I will HAVE to later next year. But I actually do want to. I need to beat this time because I know I'm faster than that. This past month just caught me on my lazy streak. And for the record, yes, I am sore and I'll be walking funny.

On another note, Happy Birthday Fel!
